One day our professor was discussing a particularly complicated concept.
A pre-med student rudely interrupted to ask, "Why do we have to learn this pointless information?"
"To save lives." The professor responded quickly and continued the lecture.
A few minutes later, the same student spoke up again.
"So how does physics save lives?" he persisted.
"It keeps the idiots like you out of medical school," replied the professor.
어느 날 교수가 대단히 복잡한 개념을 가르치고 있었다.
의예과 학생 한 명이 예의 없이 교수의 말을 끊고 질문을 했다. "왜 우리가 이 무의미한 지식을 배워야 하는 거죠?"
"생명을 살리기 위해서네." 교수는 재빨리 답하고 강의를 계속했다.
잠시 후 같은 학생이 다시 큰 목소리로 물었다.
"도대체 어떻게 물리학이 생명을 살린다는 말씀인가요?"
"물리학은 자네 같은 바보들을 의과대학에서 걸러내주지." 교수가 답했다.
