When Ted was putting flowers on his Grandmother's grave he noticed a man in front of a tombstone several yards away. The man was on his knees, hands tightly clasped in front of him, tears streaming down his cheeks, moaning softly, "Why did you die? Why did you die?"
Ted went over to the poor man to try and console him. Ted gently put his arm around the man and whispered to him, "Is a loved one of yours buried here?"
"No", sniffled the man, "It's my wife's first husband."
테드는 할머니 묘지 앞에 꽃을 놓다가 몇 야드 떨어진 비석 앞에 있는 남자를 발견했다. 그 남자는 무릎을 꿇고 양손을 꼭 쥐고는 눈물을 흘리며 조용히 신음했다. "왜 죽었나요? 왜 죽었어요?"
테드는 그 가련한 남자에게 다가가 위로했다. 테드는 다정하게 그 남자에게 팔을 두르고 속삭였다. "당신이 사랑한 분이 여기 묻혔나 보죠?"
"아니오." 남자가 훌쩍거리며 말했다. "제 아내의 첫 남편이에요."
