A priest and a minister from a local parishes are standing by the side of the road holding up a sign that reads, "The End is Near! Turn yourself around now before it's too late!"
Their plan is to hold up the sign to each passing car.
"Leave us alone you religious nuts!", yelled the first driver as he sped by.
Then, from around the curve, they heard screeching tires and a big splash.
"Do you think", said one clergyman to the other, "that we should just put up a sign that says 'Bridge Out' instead?"
지역 교구의 한 사제와 목사가 "끝이 가까이에 있습니다! 너무 늦기 전에 지금 돌아서세요!"라고 적힌 표지판을 들고 도로 옆에 서 있었다.
그들의 계획은 지나가는 차들이 표지판을 보도록 하는 것이었다.
첫번째 운전자가 그들을 빠르게 지나가며 소리쳤다. "우릴 그냥 내버려둬. 예수쟁이들아!"
잠시 후 커브 길 근처에서 타이어가 끼익하면서 커다란 첨벙 소리가 들렸다.
한 성직자가 다른 사람에게 말했다. "'다리 끊겼음'이라는 표지판을 들고 있는 게 더 나았으려나?"
(운전자는 표지판 내용을 종말이 다가왔으니 회개하라는 뜻으로 오해)
