An artist asked the gallery owner if there had been any interest in his paintings on display at that time.
"I have good news and bad news," the owner replied. "The good news is that a gentleman inquired about your work and wondered if it would appreciate in value after your death. When I told him it would, he bought all 15 of your paintings."
"That's wonderful," the artist exclaimed. "What's the bad news?"
"The guy was your doctor."
한 화가가 전시회 도중 화랑 주인에게 자신의 작품에 흥미를 보인 사람이 있냐고 물었다.
"좋은 소식과 나쁜 소식이 있어요." 화랑 주인이 답했다. "좋은 소식은 어떤 신사가 당신 작품에 관심을 보인 거예요. 당신이 사망한 뒤 가치가 얼마나 뛸지 궁금해하더군요. 값이 오를 거라고 답했더니 당신 그림을 15점이나 샀어요."
"훌륭하네요." 화가가 말했다. "그럼 나쁜 소식은 뭡니까?"
"그 남자가 당신 주치의예요."
